COENT EL ROVELL // COOKING THE YOLK
COENT EL ROVELL // COOKING THE YOLK
November and December 2023
ACVIC is a collaborator in "Ocell de Foc", a programme promoted by the Direcció General d'Economia Social i Solidària (the third sector), and cooperatives of the Departament d'Empresa i Treball de la Generalitat de Catalunya. It is led in Osona by Osonament, and in Berguedà by Fundació Horitzó, and ACVIC is also taking part, together with other institutions in the two regions.
Here is a text from Col·lectiu La Clota, which explains the initiative:
Who hasn't closed themselves off in their own shell? Who has not felt their individuality to be rusty? Who hasn't wanted to fight the social brouhaha in order to stand back from it?
Tough or broken, people live, at the very least, two separate realities; the solitary and the social. Isolation can be a healing resource, as can social bonding, there are no easy recipes, and that can get up our nose(s). In order to express this intimacy, in order to weave connections, and to transform ourselves, we at La Clota would like to present a new autumn meeting point: Rovell de Foc (Yolk of Fire).
In times of consecutive crises (climatic, economic, systemic), we live lives which are more self-conscious, and which are highly vulnerable to constant change. Fragility runs through us, perhaps as it always has, but we are now more aware of it than ever. The new generations are beginning to realise that it is not necessary to maintain a tight grip upon their emotional issues, but rather that opening them up ,and sharing them publicly, offers more tools to deal with.
In this context, La Clota, as a cultural organisation, knows that culture is a great transformation device for forging identities and collectives. Mental health issues, seen from a cultural perspective, can help us to break down stigmas, make issues visible, and fight against the segregation suffered by people like us; because mental health issues are closer than they seem for everybody and it will be better to normalise them.
The "Rovell de Foc" conference will be held on November 18th and 19th at the El Refugi space in La Guixa, and will be preceded by a series of radio programmes during the month of October which will put culture and mental health in the centre of interest.
COENT EL ROVELL COOKING THE YOLK
This is the name we give to the days preceding the November conference. The intention of these four days is to make radio among the youth of the region on the theme of mental health and culture. We have chosen 4 podcasts with a presence in the region and led by young people. Without changing their broadcast formats, they will introduce the issues that concern us in their conversations, which have different points of view and conflicts.

Song lyrics form the soul of this podcast hosted by Martí Sales. The way it works is simple: Martí invites a friend to listen to songs, paying close attention to the words, and then they discuss their meanings or mysteries in a relaxed way. On the 18th, Martí will be surrounded by 4 young people from the region to reach conclusions - or not - through music ,about how far our minds take us.
