GUIDED VISITS

ACVIC has a regular programme of exhibitions which change every quarter. ACVIC offers a service of guided visits with the aim of bringing art closer to the public, enriching their cultural background, and encouraging a critical viewpoint.

All visits are complemented by an educational activity, providing a ludic experience related to the exhibition’s content.

GROUP WORKSHOPS

1. SKIN FIRST
Discovery of the sense of touch and the artistic technique of frottage

When we close our eyes, and when we are silent, we awaken our sleeping senses. In this workshop, we will awaken the sense of touch by reading a story, discovering things which are hidden to the naked eye using the frottage technique.

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Educational stage: early childhood education and special education
Group: Classroom-Group

2. DOING FOR THE SAKE OF DOING
Performance through the work of Marina Abramovic

A game, an artist, a practice that sets the body and mind in motion. What happens when we do for the sake of doing? What if we play the game for its own sake, and think about it later? We will learn about a performance artist who has revolutionised the world of art. We will then practice with this art form, which stimulates both practitioners and audiences; but above all, we will make performances to no productive end.

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Educational stage: primary education. The workshop may also be adapted for secondary education groups.
Group: Classroom-Group
Requirements: The workshop will take place outside and will be cancelled in case of rain.

3. WHERE SHALL WE MEET?
Reappropriation of disused spaces

In this workshop, we will take a walk around the Adoberies area of Vic, now disused, to learn about its origin and previous uses. We will examine the uses of public spaces, the needs of those who inhabit them, and how we can reappropriate them. We will also get to know some of the city's youth social movements, which have focused their attention on public space. The workshop has a practical component focusing upon the technique of photographic collage.

Educational stage: secondary education.
Group: Classroom-group
Requirements: To take photographs, you can use your personal mobile phone. We will provide digital cameras for those who may prefer to use them instead of a phone.

4. PERSONAL PORTRAIT
Contemporary art for well-being

Participants create a personal portrait using contemporary art techniques. A portrait which defines them at that moment, as opposed to who they truly are, or how they imagine themselves to be. Contemporary art allows us to describe ongoing situations without the need to be well defined, and with the possibility of raising questions and contradictions.

We will use a notebook, in which we sketch out our rough-drafts of a path towards self-knowledge, and towards the artistic expression of what we feel.

This activity is part of the ACVIC WITH HEALTH project.

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Educational stage: special and secondary education
Group: small groups, maximum 15 people

• DYSTOPIAN SAFARI
A photo safari

A photo safari is a game which consists of finding, from a series of photographs, a number of hidden places. All the photographs will take you around the river, Les Adoberies, and the Calla district.

How does this photo safari work?

- Stop by ACVIC to find the brochure with the urban map and images of the places you will need to find
- Using the map and the photographs you will be able to find the places.
- When you find them, you will need to take a group photo at each of them. We will also give you an object to place in your images.
- When you have found all the places, return to ACVIC where you will receive a gift for your classroom!

Approximate duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Educational stage: primary, secondary, and special education
Group: Classroom-group( divided into smaller groups on the day).
Observations: This activity will not be guided by ACVIC staff. When you arrive at the art centre, a member from the educational team will welcome you and give you the materials you need, and clear instructions to follow the activity. Dates for all workshops/activities must be reserved in advance
