05.05.2016 - 11.06.2016Exhibition of the works from 46 graphic design studies of Osona
Activity in the project VICCC2016
Opening, Friday April 5 at 7 pm at Temple Romà followed by Casino de Vic, Espai Romeu, Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de Vic and ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies
The exhibition at the Temple Romà of Vic has been made possible thanks both to the contributions from Marc Martí's collection, as well as to contributions from other private collectors, and to printers as Tipografía Balmesiana (Can Pietx), Anglada i Daví. The exhibition presents the evolution of graphic arts and graphic design from 1878 to the 1980s, in the latter part of the 20th century, when work with the earlies computers began.
Included are works by Lluís Labarta, Alexandre de Riquer, Josep M. Sert, Salvador Puntí, Ramon Goula, Pere Daví, Anguera/Mumbrú, Canals, Fidel Bofill, Josep Esteve, among others. But this exhibition is not only a look back at the past, at the origin from which most graphic designers came. It is also intended to be a snapshot of the present, to present the work of the current generation of designers and graphic designers from 44 graphic design studios in Osona, which is exhibited in four more venues around the city (Casino de Vic, Espai Josep Romeu, l’Escola d’Art de Vic and ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies).
This long journey through graphic arts and graphic design in Osona has been made possible thanks to the support of the Arxiu Comarcal d’Osona, Arxiu Municipal de Vic and Arxiu i Biblioteca Episcopal de Vic. The exhibition is curated by graphic designer Anton Granero and was organised through the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de Vic, with the collaboration of Ferran Blancafort, Marià Dinarès, Miquel Fernández, Ramon Ricart and Felip Vidal.
The graphic image of the exhibition is the work of Iris Selva, second year student of Estudis Superiors Artístics (Disseny Gràfic) de l’Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de Vic.
