Helena Muñoz and Col·lectiu A+ exhibition
Cultural mediation projects for the Old Tanneries of Vic
Opening, Friday 17th February at 7 pm
ACVic Centre d'Arts Contemporànies, in collaboration with Sala d'Art Jove de la Generalitat de Catalunya and Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP), introduces two different cultural mediation projects regarding Vic's Old Tanneries.
On the one hand, Oficina de Turisme (Tourist Office) is an installation about the tannery district, aimed at young people, pupils and students, allowing them to visualise the process of educational mediation, under the directorship of Helena Muñoz, with the collaboration of Jaume Guinart, Marta Ricart, Col·lectiu A+ and Institut La Plana de Vic. Oficina de Turisme is the last layer of the working and study processes in “Adoberismes”, the educational mediation project proposal, given the 2016 Art Jove Education Grant promoted by the Sala d'Art Jove de la Generalitat de Catalunya, in collaboration with ACVic Centre d'Arts Contemporànies.
On the other hand, A_A_A is a journey through the history of the first year of Col·lectiu A+, a group dedicated to the cultural revitalisation of the tannery district through art and architecture. The exhibition has been conceived as a space for documentation, work, participation and interconnection among various cultural agents, in order to find collective cultural promotion strategies. The Col·lectiu A+ was set up as part of the QUAM-CAPP 2015, based upon Santiago Cirugeda's workshop "Public Interests and Collective Creation", which pointed towards collective strategies for the social and cultural revitalisation of the Vic's Tanneries District.
Helena Muñoz (1988). Educational Mediator. Humanities graduate and specialist in art and education. She designs and implements collaborative projects, and projects of citizen participation, which flit between art, architecture and education. She embraces cross-disciplinary work, reflection upon cultural practice itself, and temporary works, because they generate an interweaving among different fields, and because of the outfield in which they are situated.
The Col·lectiu A+ was set up as part of the 2015 Quam-CAPP, based upon the workshop "Public Interests and Collective Creation", which pointed towards collective strategies for the social and cultural revitalisation of Vic's Tanneries District. Constituted as a non-profit cultural association, A+ members are professionals of the world of culture: an architect, a cultural manager, an educator, an artist, and a cultural mediator. It is based upon this cross-disciplinary experience that A+ generate their projects of cultural and social intervention in disused urban spaces such as the Tannery District of Vic
