GUIDED VISITS FOR GROUPS
The exhibition 3 MESOS, 3 SETMANES I 3 DIES (3 MONTHS,3 WEEKS AND 3 DAYS) is about the tensions on the intersection between animal exploitation, the food and tannery industries, the logistics infrastructure, and the environment in the region of Vic and its areas of influence.
The interior walls of ACVIC have become one big story illustrated using comic-book techniques, depicting the life of the shmoo, a fictitious animal who lovingly offers eggs, bottled milk, butter, and meat to humans.
Shmoos reproduce rapidly and are an unlimited natural resource. Its abundance, however, destabilises the logic of capitalism. You no longer need to consume, nor do you need to work in order to feed yourself. The shmoos represent a full-blown food utopia.
But, are these creatures, and the landscapes they inhabit not already familiar to us?
There are two interventions related to the 3 MESOS, 3 SETMANES I 3 DIES (3 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS, 3 DAYS) exhibition, one at Les Adoberies, and the other at Museu de l’Art de la Pell, which we would encourage everybody to visit. Even so, the guided visit will focus on the main exhibition space at ACVIC.
RELATED ACTIVITY
What if we could change the world?
Do we like the reality depicted by Francesc Ruiz? What if we could change the way of life of the shmoos, or the pigs from the Osona region? What landscapes would they inhabit? What relationship would we establish with them? How would we humans feed ourselves?
In a fun way, we will think about the food production model of our society, and dream of new possible utopias.
