Visual and audiovisual artistic expression workshop
Open to teens aged 14 to 17

Tuesday 12th, 19th and 26th July from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Creation of a small-scale video or photographic artwork, using other visual arts techniques in dialogue. Participants will learn to make art their own, and to use it as a means of expression, using an everyday object like the mobile phone.

Questions such as: What do we dislike about our surroundings? What would we like to transform from the outside? What would we like to transform about ourselves? What objects do you most connect with?; these questions will serve as a guide to accompany the creative process and the development of the work.

BASICS:
The interests of the participants themselves will serve as a starting point in the development of a personal artwork. We will delve into a number of techniques in order to enrich our languages of artistic expression, focusing mainly on photography and video, but also learning about techniques such as collage and monotype, among other.

Participants must remember to bring a mobile phone, as it will be necessary for participation in the workshop.

OBJECTIVES:

- To make use of new technologies for artistic creation as a starting point to reach out to young people, and thus emphasising that artistic creation is available to everyone.
- To support the young participants in the development of an idea or a theme (or a thought, a concern) based on their own creative language. The direction of each project is left up to each participant.
- To introduce participants to contemporary art (examples and concepts) and basic techniques, to expand the range of artistic possibilities, and to collaborate in a richer process.

METHODOLOGY:
The sessions of this workshop will comprise two distinct parts. The first will be an introduction to concepts, themes, techniques, based upon experimentation, under the workshop leader’s supervision.
In the second part, participants will use the artistic tools with which they have experimented, and apply them in their own work. Each participant will decide what they wish to do, how and when to accomplish it, what they will need, under the support of the workshop leader.
